Roar Reviews: Sucker

After a solid six years of solo careers, weddings, game show appearances and hope, the Jonas Brothers have finally made their comeback with a music video and single titled “Sucker.”

“Sucker” is only the start of their return.

There is talk of a reunion tour, an album, and more, but nothing is being confirmed until later next week.

The brothers announced the single on Thursday, February 28 and released it on Friday, March 1 at midnight. They also appeared in a teaser video released on February 28 for James Corden’s Youtube series of Carpool Karaoke.

The country, to say the least, is shook.

Even with very little promoting of their own, the music video is up to 4 million views and is number one trending on youtube.

Like their other songs, Joe is leading with vocals, and Nick and Kevin both back him up and play the guitar. The song and music video are both more mature than their previously released music but more energetic and poppy than a majority of their songs from their solo careers.

Their immaturity surfaces as they chase around their significant others throughout the majority of the video. Yet, on the other hand, the fact that Kevin and Nick chase their wives, Danielle and Priyanka Chopra (respectively), and Joe chases his fiance, Sophie Turner, hints at a sense of maturity as well.

As another indication of progress through age, the video is much more professional and better directed than any of their previous videos together.

Nonetheless, they are still just as goofy and adorable as we remember them, leaving all of the original fans to swoon and bring out their inner 10-12 year-old selves while current preteens fall in love with them.

The song and video are both a perfect mix of 2013 and 2019 to please the intended audience and the newer audiences. Glittery suits and fencing over a catchy beat is the best thing to have happened in 2019 thus far.
