A look into the spider-verse

For years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has had huge success. The newest installment, “Spider Man: No Way Home” has experienced a major amount of hype.

It exceeded the expectations that fans had set for it, but the most exciting element to fans is probably the featuring of the two past Spider-Man actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Fans had been predicting that Maguire and Garfield would make an appearance for a long time and they were right.

It was especially exciting for fans who had grown up watching the Spider-Man movies to see the three different iterations in one film.

“With ‘No Way Home’ out in theaters, we’ve officially left the era of Spider-Man and entered the strange new world of Spider-Men,” says Esquire Magazine

Since the first “Spider-Man” movie in 2002, fans have gotten excited over seeing Spider-Man on screen. The fanbase has also grown and evolved as more actors portrayed the character.

Throughout the years, the way the Spider-Man movies have been setup and remastered has changed. As the different movies come out, the contrasts between them become more obvious.

The oldest movies, Tobey Macguire’s “Spider-Man” trilogy, was the first time we saw the famous superhero in a live action film. For older fans, the films have a special place in their hearts since Maguire’s. But since these movies were some of the first movies we watched of Spider Man and new ones keep coming out, the hype for them has gone down.

Maguire gives an amazing performance in his movies and they received good reviews. When the audience watches his movies, they feel a sense of nostalgia and realness. He did a convincing  job playing a superhero and at the same time a normal high school kid.

“He builds a real character out of the sketch that is Peter Parker,” said Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers.
