Roar reviews: Angry, Young and Poor

Founded in 1995,  “Angry, Young and Poor”(AYP) is an online store that sells alternative clothing. From patches and band tees, to spikes and studs. This website is paradise for punks, goths and metalheads.

Located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, AYP is a diverse and supportive brand selling alternative clothing at an affordable price. Their website is a better alternative to Amazon and Hot Topic due to the use of revenue and the product.

Unlike mass companies, AYP is locally sourced. They earn close to a million dollars a year. Nearly all of the revenue is used for new material. Product is always restocked and shipped right away.

Most popular alternative stores like Spencer’s and Hot Topic have drastically toned down.

In the 2000’s, those stores were the go to spot for punks and goths because the product was legitimate. Hot Topic was selling a diverse selection of metal t-shirts and jewelry that catered to an older audience.

But over the years, these chains went from a perfect place for alternative people, to a disney store that caters to middle schoolers. AYP sells clothes true to the name and is diverse and openly supports the LGBTQ and other minorities.

Many customers have been more than satisfied by the product, and by how easy the website was to navigate. The T-shirts are comfortable and go for around$15-20.

“The quality is awesome, the shipping was very fast. Overall I can’t recommend AYP enough. It’s hard for me to find clothes that I like,” Daniel S said in a review on Yelp.

Recently, I bought a black t-shirt with the words “Stamp Out Fascism”. The shirt cost me $14.99 and the material is comfortable. It also goes very well with a leather jacket and chains.

My package came a couple days early and everything was in wonderful condition. Everything stayed intact and my shirt fit perfectly. AYP products fit the subculture they market for, and I truly believe they sell the best alternative clothing.
