Member of NHS (National Honor Society) , SADD (students against destructive decisions), WAVE and yearbook, Senior Eva Frymire still dedicates time to her talents in art.
At the beginning of high school, Frymire started to use her artistic capabilities more regularly.
“I really actually started doing stuff with my talents in highschool when I had an art class by choice so there were other people who actually wanted to be there, unlike middle school and elementary school,” Frymire said.
Frymire has created two pieces that especially stand out to her.
“Rocky” is currently in the art showcase, located by the lockers, representing her love for her dog Rocky.
Another piece of hers, “unnamed”, represents sustainability with hands on cardboard.
During the 2020/2021 school year, Frymire participated in Advanced Placement (AP) Studio art and received a four on her portfolio.
Frymire’s portfolio is set around her essential questions, “How can discarded materials be manipulated into something aesthetically pleasing?”
The AP Studio Art course material consists of three different “main subjects”. Including, 2-D Art and Design, 3-D Art and Design, and Drawing. Each student creates a portfolio, providing any or all of the following main subjects, with the highest score of six.
In addition, Frymire has high expectations for herself this upcoming school year and is looking forward to what she can do to surprise herself.
“I’m hoping to get higher [score] this year, aiming for a 5, explore new ideas and going outside my comfort zone,” Frymire said.
Even with Frymire’s high expectations, she recognizes that not everything has to be perfect, referring to her art.
“I can’t be perfect. I’m a really big perfectionist [But I’m also] a human being and humans can’t always do something perfect.” Frymire said.
