Some call him Bob, others call him a friend, but everyone calls him a fan.
Bob Kruse is an avid fan of Northview’s sports; he never misses a baseball or football game. According to Kruse, he’s been going to the games for a long time and he looks forward to every one of them.
Kruse is not only a supporter of the those teams he also enjoys going to watch other sports.
“I go to football, maybe some soccer. I went to a softball game once, and I used to go to basketball games,” Kruse said.
Even though he’s a Rockford graduate, Kruse feels at home cheering for Northview’s various teams.
“I go just to make sure they’re scoring a lot of runs and just supporting them in that way,” Kruse said.
Bob not only feels at home here at Northview, he feels accepted and welcomed by the community.
“He’s our ‘superfan,’ that’s what we call him,” senior Max Julien, third baseman for the varsity baseball team, said.
For as long as Julien can remember, Kruse has been a mainstay of Northview’s outdoor sports.
“He’s been going to all of the sporting events, I remember when I was in middle school, he would go to my brother’s games,” Julien said.
Kruse has been a tremendous supporter of the team and it’s players. They’ll offer him food if there’s any to share and they help him make signs to support the team.
Kruse loves hanging out with the players and feels like a true member of the Wildcats.
