Senior Kaylin McCullough is a singer and a theatre department member who is making the most out of her last year in high school.

McCullough strives to be the best she can be. She is involved in a great deal of activities at school that fulfill her passion for music such as band, choir and A Capella.

McCullough has loved theatre throughout high school. She started out with playing Martha Cox in “High School Musical” and is now playing Belle in this years musical, “Beauty and the Beast.” McCullough is thrilled to be playing the lead for the first time.

“It’s exciting, I’ve spent a lot of time in music and all those things and it feels kind of gratifying to get a bigger role than I’ve had before,” McCullough said.

Along with her connection to the stage, McCullough is also engaged in more academic activities at school including National Honor Society, student council and debate.

For many students, having this type of schedule would leave them feeling exhausted, but she makes it work.

“It can be hard to keep the balance but I’ve figured it out the last few years,” said McCullough.

Without a doubt McCullough is enjoying her senior year and is pleased that she is able to keep up with all of the important things she does, as well as make time with her friends that she has made.

“I’ve been able to make the free time to hang out with my friends and go in the student section and still do all the important things as well,” Mccullough said.

Nonetheless, like most seniors, McCullough is feeling the different emotions of the final year. Especially since she is playing such a big role in her closing production.

“It feels really nostalgic, it’s really nice to be able finish out all of the things that I’ve been doing since freshman year including theatre and volleyball and choir,” McCullough said. “Just generally, it’s kind of sad because I know that this is the last time that I’ll be doing choreo and music but it makes it that much more important.”
