Get to know the new teaching staff for the 2018-2019 school year!

Jack Phillipson

After graduating from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Music Education, Jack Phillipson headed over to Northview for his first year of teaching. Being involved in choir at his high school, Walled Lake Western, Phillipson found a passion for coming together to create musical art. When not creating music, you can find Phillipson hitting the water where he is a competitive water skier.

Robert Nowak

Growing up, Robert Nowak found a passion for history through History Channel documentaries on World War II, which sparked his interest in becoming a social studies teacher. Nowak graduated from Hope college in 2009 with a B.A. in History and five years later obtained his teaching credentials from Aquinas College. Teaching at four different schools in five years, Nowak shares that Northview feels a lot more like “home” than anywhere else he has been.

Alexandra Naum

Alexandra Naum, a 2012 Northview alumni attended Indiana Wesleyan University. Throughout her three years of teaching, Naum has enjoyed seeing students succeed and helping them reach their goals. She loves that teaching special education allows her to help students with various needs. When school is not in session, Naum can be found surfing and basking in the sun by Michigan’s beautiful lakes.

Kassandra Darling

Coming from Crossroads middle school, Kassandra Darling isn’t new to the Northview community, yet this year she has been welcomed into the high school. After graduating from Michigan State University, Darling has taught all six years in the Northview district. Darling lost her hearing in her right ear just before her freshman year of high school. Losing her hearing gave her a perspective on the Deaf and hard of hearing students, shaping her interest in Deaf Education.

Louise Greiner

Having graduated from Grand Valley State University and Michigan State University, Louise Greiner has been teaching for 30 years. However, this is her very first year teaching American Sign Language. After watching another teacher, Greiner thought it would be a new challenge. Moving from only teaching Deaf students, Greiner made a shift to teach American Sign Language to hearing students. Greiner sees this as a new path to follow in her career.

Molly Kwiatkowski

After six years of teaching, Molly Kwiatkowski a graduate of Grand Valley State University landed in the Northview community.  Falling in love with Spanish in high school, Kwiatkowski knew she wanted to incorporate it into her career. Originally majoring in Pre-Med, she knew that something was wrong. Working with kids and teaching them to love Spanish was what she truly wanted to do.

Ryleigh Angstman is a senior and a second-year staff member of the Roar. She plays golf, competitive cheer, and soccer. Ryleigh is also a member of student council, D.Y.P, peer listeners, and S.A.D.D. In her free time, Ryleigh enjoys going to the beach, cheering on Michigan football and hanging out with her friends.
