This junior elite athlete, Kyle Pranger, is one of Northview’s best varsity bowlers. Pranger is on the boy’s bowling team and on a recreational league team at Northfield Lanes.
Pranger has been participating in bowling ever since he could push the bowling ball down the lane. His dad is his biggest motivator because it all started off with him. He is grateful his dad showed him how to bowl at a young age because if he hadn’t, he wouldn’t be where he is now.
“My dad showed me how to bowl at a young age and I’ve loved it ever since”, Pranger said.
Since then, Pranger and his dad have spent endless hours at the bowling center to do training and learn new skills. He believes becoming successful now will help him in the near future for bowling.
For the future, Pranger has high hopes for his bowling career.
“My future in bowling is hopefully going out on the professional tour and winning some national events on TV,” Pranger said.
Pranger enjoys bowling at Northview High School with his teammates but he wishes the bowling teams would have more recognition like the other sports.
He is hoping if more students and team members speak out about bowling recognition, the athletic department will see that they need to be recognized. Pranger is strongly convinced the girls’ and boys’ bowling teams need the recognition they deserve because of the amount of hard work they put into the sport.
“All the recognition goes to basketball and football. If you look at our scores, we’re the best team in the school and nobody knows it. It’s hilarious,” Pranger said.
On his off days and season, Pranger enjoys fishing and lake life.
“I am a huge fisherman and love fishing with a passion. I work on a Charter Boat in Grand Haven and we take people all over out on Lake Michigan for fishing king salmon,” Pranger said.
Being one of Northview’s best bowling members, Pranger hopes for more success to come onto his bowling career and for himself.
