Under Friday night lights, students can see the number six jersey running across the field and accompanied by chants of “Will the Skill.”

In the second week of the football season, junior running back Will Seniura had a breakout game. He rushed for three touchdowns and had an interception where he successfully ran it back for a touchdown in a 43-20 Northview win against Wyoming. This performance put him on the ballot for the M-live player of the week for week two.

Football has been a part of Seniura’s life for a long time, he started playing when he was in kindergarten and hasn’t stopped since.

“[When I was younger] what struck my interest [in football] was the constant running and the loud roars from the crowd,” Seniura said.

Seniura’s time and commitment have been dedicated to football and getting stronger in order to compete at the highest level he can. Many summer mornings had him coming into school for 8 a.m. workouts.

“At the end of the day, it’s on me [to be motivated],” Seniura said.

By playing positions like running back and safety, he had taken on leadership roles throughout the years.

Junior wide receiver Jake Johnson has played with Seniura for a long time and has seen him grow as a player.

“He’s very motivated and a great teammate. Whenever someone is down he’s always there to pick them up,” Johnson said.

Varsity football coach Tim Felix has coached Seniura since freshman year, and the grittiness and motivation he brings to the team are appreciated by Felix.

“He’s a blue-collar guy, he’s not afraid to get dirty and he’s very coachable,” Felix said.

Seniura and the team so far have gone 4-2 on the season and plan on making a playoff run deeper in the season.

“I’m very happy how we have started the year but as we say we can’t be happy with 4-2 it’s a new opponent every week and every game counts,” Seniura said.

Though Seniura is credited with all of the accolades from the game he couldn’t have won it by himself.

“The offensive line I credit for my success during that game, without them blocking for me, I couldn’t have rushed for that much,” Seniura said.
