Bob Saget, known to many as “America’s Dad”, passed away at the age of 65 on January 9th, 2022.

Saget starred on the popular television show Full House and was the original host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Barely into the year, Saget’s death was heartbreaking and a shock to many.

“It’s tragic he passed away recently,” sophomore Colin Tebrake said, “He was a great actor and a great dad on the show, he, Jesse, and Joey were a great trio.”

Full House may not have been extremely important to some, but many grew up with the show, watching Saget play the exemplary role of Danny Tanner.

The passing of Saget made people reminisce about the enjoyment they felt while watching his shows.

“I know dying is a part of life but, when I heard about his passing, it made me pause and remember watching him while I was growing up,” Northview interpreter Ashley Thompson said.

Watching Full House was a weekly routine for many. The Friday night “TGIF” showings of the sitcom gave people something to look forward to at the end of the week.

“I watched Full House every Friday night, and then I watched all the reruns,” Thompson said, “Since Covid, my daughter watched them too, and we also watched Fuller House.”

Many were certain to watch the newest episode whenever they could.

“I definitely made sure to watch it every chance I got,” Thompson said.

Even if you didn’t watch Full House, most know someone who did.

“My mom, my sister, and my other siblings grew up on Full House. His passing is very tragic and heartbreaking especially to start the year off like that,” sophomore Bryce Swift said.
