The Senior All Night Party (SANP) committee has been working hard to plan a special evening for seniors. This night long party for the class of 2023 will take place right after graduation at a surprise location.
Fundraising has been a point of emphasis for the committee. There are many opportunities for students and families to get involved and collect money for the event, such as the flushed fundraiser, pop can collection, monthly raffles, and much more.
Vice president of the SANP committee Megan Warner has been a big contributor in organizing these fundraisers.
“All the money raised goes right back to the students. The majority of this pays for the SANP which includes the venue, food, transportation, entertainment, and prizes,” Warner said. “We also use a small portion to provide fun snacks on our senior appreciation days that are held monthly. So far, we have done ice cream and donuts”
Some fundraisers have already been completed, such as the homemade pie sales, t-shirt and yard sign sales, and multiple raffles that took place during the football season. A number of activities are taking place currently such as the pop can collection and the flushed fundraiser. There are many more to come in the near future.
“Students and parents can help in a variety of ways [to raise money,]” Warner said. “Donate your pop cans, purchase a senior t-shirt or yard sign for $20 each and make sure to sign up for the SANP! $60 until the end of the year. This helps us to have an idea of how many will attend and how much money we will need to be able to provide prizes.”
The flushed fundraiser has been the most popular as seniors have been surprised with a toilet outside of their house. Classmates have been sending the toilet to others by paying the fee and the money goes directly toward the party. Photos of students being flushed can be found on the senior all night party Instagram.
Senior Sam Pollack was a victim of the flushing back in October.
“Getting flushed was a site to see,” Pollack said. “I’m driving home on a beautiful sunny day and all I see in my front yard is a toilet, nothing else just a toilet. It was quite funny.”
Another method of fundraising is from businesses within the community.
“We will also take any donations from businesses,” Warner said. “If a parent has a connection to a local business, and they are willing to donate money or gift cards, that is very helpful.”
