Coming back after Labor Day, many students noticed that the booths in the cafeteria were gone. Instead of being available for students to use during lunch, the booths were sitting in the media center.
The administration decided that the booths were unappealing and the area where they were located was jammed and misused.
According to Principal Mark Thomas, instead of replacing the booths, administration has decided to fill the space with hightops to better accommodate the space and the outlets against the far wall. They also wanted to match the counter space along the front windows. The hightops will open up space, so more people can be seated in one area.
The hightops will be built in the weeks ahead.
The booths are currently being held in the media center but they will be repurposed in the near future.
“We may repurpose them in [the media center] or we may repurpose them someplace else,” Thomas said.
