Q: What sport do you play?
A: Soccer.
Q: How long have you been playing?
A: Since I was four years old.
Q: What motivates you?
A: What motivates me is winning, I’m a very competitive person and I don’t enjoy losing.
Q: What was your best season? Why?
A: I’d say my sophomore season I didn’t play as well in the first half of the season but later in the season I started to understand our team and I learned how to play within our system.
Q: Why did you decide to start playing the sport you do?
A: I grew up around it. Going to my brother’s high school and college games made me really interested and my parents have always been supportive in anything I do.
Q: What is the ultimate goal you can imagine related to your sport?
A: I’d of course like to play professionally but that probably won’t happen. In the end, I just want to take what I learned from soccer like respect, teamwork, hardwork and much more and just be able to put it into the real world.
Q: What have been your biggest achievements in athletics?
A: My biggest achievement is probably going to state semifinals with my club team. It didn’t mean much back then, but looking back at it now we were much better than we thought.
Q: How do you think coaches can be more effective?
A: I’d like for coaches to let the players take over during specific games because we are playing and we understand what we need and what will help us.
Q: What are your main strengths in your sport?
A: Vision, understanding of the game, and natural talent. It all comes naturally to me, and I have always been a technical player. I’ve improved it over the years but my learning curve was very different then most.
Q: What do you need to improve?
A: I need to improve on my grit. I’ve always been a very good player, but during games I tend to lose my head and start to get angry at myself and once that happens I can’t play like myself and I make many mistakes.
Q: What do you like about training?
A: I enjoy training because it’s a time to relax and get my mind off things, not only that but being around my teammates is always a great time, we’re more than a team, it’s a family.
Q: What do you dislike about training?
A: I almost always enjoy training but one thing I can’t stand is not being able to practice due to an injury or suspension. It’s the worst having to watch others play something you love.
Q: Who are your biggest inspirations?
A: My biggest inspirations are definitely my brother and my dad. Growing up going to their games really gave me a sense of how much it meant to them. Playing well and seeing them proud of me is the best feeling.
