High school allows voluntary conditioning and training starting June 8

On June 4, the Northview Athletic Department sent out an email to parents and students in regards to their guidelines and schedule for restarting high school sports activities. This came after the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) released its 12-page guidance for schools to consider when they start back up.

“We understand that we are moving into uncharted territory and we are moving slowly, cautiously and thoughtfully in our process,” the Athletic Department said in the email.

Voluntary conditioning and training will be available Mondays, Tuesdays  and Thursdays at Wildcat Stadium starting on Monday June 8. Football players in grades 9-12 will workout from 9:00-10:15 and all other athletes from 10:15-11:15.

To ensure all athletes will be safe and prepared, they have some new guidelines in place that comply with MHSAA guidance, which can be seen below.

Along with those guidelines, there will also be at least one athletic trainer at each session to make sure athletes are safe.

With the date approaching soon, Athletic Director Pat Marsman is ready to see all of the athletes again.

“[I’m most looking forward to] interacting with them again,” Marsman said. “I miss them.”
