As the 2025-2026 school year comes to an end, seniors graduated and memories were made. Looking back, here are some highlights and lasting memories of the year.

There were many activities and accomplishments students participated in this year. Some of the highlights include prom, and two theatrical productions: Mean Girls and the historical play Ten November. The boys basketball team and the wrestling team were two sports students enjoyed participating in or going to see.

One event that is always fun for the upperclassmen is prom. Prom takes place in the spring and this year was April 17th held at New Vintage Place, an industrial-chic venue.
Prom tickets cost $40. Prom is for juniors and seniors to wear their best dress or suit and is the most formal of the three yearly dances.

Junior Colin Yanik attended prom this year. Yanik enjoys the experience of feeling connected to his peers.

“Prom gives you something to plan for and just look forward to and I feel like everyone gets closer together,” Yanik said.

Junior Chloe Kunter also had the joy of attending prom. Kunter liked the freeing freeing of the dance and how it opened up new opportunities and friendships.

“It was definitely a highlight of the year. It’s just fun that everyone came together and was just dancing, it didn’t matter who was next to you. We were just dancing, having fun and letting go,” Kunter said.

For the arts aspect of this school year there were two theater productions, Ten November and Mean Girls. Ten November’s opening night was November seventh and started at 7 p.m. Mean Girls opening night was March 12th at 7 p.m.

Sophomore Kenton Koch acted in the play “Mean Girls” earlier this school year. Koch played Coach Carr and enjoyed the new relationships he built that will last longer than the final act.

“I think that I improved my singing ability quite a bit this year and my favorite memory was meeting all of the cool people,” Koch said.

Freshman Eleanor Nickerson was in the play “Ten November.” She acted as a sailor on the Edmund Fitxgerald. Nickerson  enjoyed watching the show come together and watching her peers continue to get better.

“Everyone was really involved and did really good with acting and the singers tied it all together,” Nickerson said.

Athletics also had success this school year. In sports, boys basketball stood out, they won the Division 1 Regional Championship and made it to the state quarterfinals this year.

Freshman Yamil Jimenez had the honor of playing on varsity and had the opportunity to experience one of the best wins.

“We played East Lansing and we were the first team to beat them in two years,” said Jimenez.

Jimenez had a great season this year and so did his teammates.

“They’re (East Lansing) the number one team in the state and Cameron Ryans had 40 points in that game,” Jimenez said.

Wrestling was another sport that excelled this school year, Freshman Nayeli Duron, senior Mckayla Brown and sophomore Ben Jackson all made it to the state tournament this year. This is Duron’s first year and she has been taking it seriously and found some success in doing so.

“I got fifth in the state and I hope to get first to third next year,” Duron said.

This year Duron was happy with the outcome and experience.

“Even though it’s hard, it’s fun and you get to meet a lot of new people,” Duron said.

This year has been memorable because of the people and the places. In all areas of the school, athletics to theater, connections, community, the joy of Northview shines to create endless memories. These experiences won’t be forgotten and friendships will last a lifetime.
