The snow is finally falling, and the temperatures are dropping lower. It’s time to find warmer shoes that are right for the season, Uggs are just what you need.
Peaking in popularity in the early to mid-2000s, Uggs took the fashion world by storm with their Classic Ugg Boots. They’ve been on and off in circulation for many years but have had a big comeback this year with multiple trending shoes like Mini Uggs, Tasman Uggs, and other staples that have been cold-weather apparel must-haves.
It’s safe to say that the brand has caught the attention of many people now that they’ve come back in circulation. Sophomore Isabelle Neely remembers wearing Uggs when she was young and is happy to see them back in style.
“Normally, fashion trends tend to resurface and I haven’t seen them since I was a little kid so it makes sense that they’re coming back,” Neely said. “And they’ve made them a lot cuter now.”
As Uggs are one of the well-known brands right now, many students have been influenced to buy the Tasman slippers and the Mini Uggs. You’ve probably seen the Tasmans, especially around the school. Sophomore Khloe Potts was also influenced to buy a pair of Mini Uggs after hearing all of the craze.
“I saw the coquette [a soft, hyper-feminine fashion style] girls on Tiktok wearing them and styling them all cute so it kind of influenced me to get a pair of my own,” Potts said.
The Tasmans come in a range of six colors, the most popular being the Uggs staple color and fan favorite chestnut, a pretty shade of brown that has been around since the beginning of the brand.
It’s safe to say that they were the start of Uggs big comeback this fall and winter season. Students notice the brand’s ability to adapt to trends, still prioritizing comfortability.
“When the Tasmans came out, everyone went crazy,’’ Potts said. “I think it’s because of the style and how they were comfortable but still cute and trendy.”
Buyers love the fur on the inside along with the structure of the shoe that makes them an easy-going wear. The fur is made of sheepskin and provides ample support, bringing great comfort. They are also good for the snowy weather conditions and go with almost everything.
I believe all the exposure that Uggs are getting this season is well overdue as they’ve always been one of my favorite brands in my shoe rotation.
To some people, Uggs may just be something that’s in right now and will be out by next season, but I am certain that Uggs will and always will be forever in style.
