Cross country: Regional Finals recap

The varsity cross country team competed at the Regional Finals meet at Benzie County Central High School near Traverse City on Saturday October 26. They ran a 5K course.

For the boys, freshman Ryan Kamp finished with the second best race time for the Cats, coming in at 18:28.06. Junior Connor Fitzgerald had the fastest time out of the Northview boys with 17:57.25. Sophomore CJ McElhemy, juniors Iain Pelton, Benjamin Birdsell, Ethan Skinner and senior Brian Burke also competed at the Regional Finals. 

In the girls division, junior Jocelyn Hendricks finished with a time of 19:00.86. She finished 12th out of 91 overall in the girls. Sophomores Isabel Toole and Lily Starr also competed alongside juniors Ally Shukis and Lizzie Hackett and senior Samantha Cone. 

Jocelyn Hendricks is the only Northview cross country team member to qualify for the State Finals that will take place November 2 at Michigan International Speedway located in Brooklyn, Michigan.
