As the leaves fall off the trees and fall sports come to an end, snow swirls down and winter sports are ready to begin.
The boys junior varsity basketball team looks to add to their growth and success, coming off of last year’s record of 10-8. Head coach Tim Felix knows exactly how to coach his team and what to focus on.
“Skill, competition, hard work, attitude and effort. That’s what you control, your attitude and effort,” Felix said.
According to Felix, the Wildcats will face several well-built teams, such as Forest Hills Central and Forest Hills Northern, but those teams won’t be their toughest competition.
“We compete against ourselves. It’s all about the guys that are wearing the Northview jersey,” Felix said.
To prepare his players for the long season, Felix aims to put them in situational drills, which replicate defenses or offenses that players will likely see in a game. By doing so, Felix gives practices and games a similar feel.
